Are tie-back dog bandanas adjustable for different neck sizes?

Yes. You set the fit with every knot, so a tie-back works as an adjustable dog bandana across the whole range of its size. Obi bandanas come in S (8–14 in), L (13–18 in) and XL (17–26 in).

How tight should a dog bandana be?

A good dog bandana fit leaves room for two fingers between the fabric and your dog's neck. It should stay in place without pressing in.

Can a puppy bandana keep fitting as my dog grows?

A tie-back puppy bandana can simply be loosened as your puppy grows, so it keeps fitting far longer than a closure with set positions. When the neck outgrows the size range, move up a size.

When does a snap dog bandana make more sense than a tie-back?

A snap dog bandana is handy for dogs who will not sit still, or for quick outings where speed matters most. Obi prefers tie-backs for fit flexibility, but both have their place.

How do I tie a dog bandana so it stays in place?

Use a square knot at the back or side of the neck, check the two-finger rule, and loop the ties over the collar for walks.

Can I wash a tie-back dog bandana with my baby's clothes?

A tie-back dog bandana has no metal or plastic parts, so it is easy to add to your regular laundry. Always follow the care label on the product.

Do your matching baby and dog outfits work for small and large breeds?

Yes. Obi's matching baby and dog bandana sets are designed so the dog's piece adjusts across many neck sizes, from an 8-inch puppy neck to a 26-inch big dog.

What does the most popular dog breeds 2026 list say nationally?

The Chihuahua is America's number one dog in the U.S. News 2026 study, followed by the French Bulldog and the Labrador Retriever. The Yorkshire Terrier made the biggest jump, climbing from ninth to fourth.

What is the most popular dog breed by state in 2026?

The Labrador Retriever leads 22 states, more than any other breed. The Chihuahua follows with 13 states, the Yorkshire Terrier with 8 plus D.C., the French Bulldog with 4, the Golden Retriever with 2, and the Shih Tzu with 1.

What is the most popular dog breed in Texas?

The Chihuahua. It leads Texas along with 12 other states in the U.S. News 2026 study, and it is America's No. 1 dog overall.

What size bandana does a Labrador need?

Most adult Labs wear Obi's XL (17 to 26 inches). Lab puppies usually start in L (13 to 18 inches) and move up. Measure where the collar sits, and if your dog is between sizes, go bigger and adjust the knot.

Why do other websites show different breeds for my state?

Each study uses different data. U.S. News uses pet insurance records, the AKC counts new purebred registrations, and pet-sitting apps use their own bookings.

Are matching baby and dog outfits safe for the dog?

Yes, when the bandana is the right size and tied loosely enough to fit two fingers under it. Take it off when your dog is crated or alone, and never leave a dog and a baby together without an adult nearby.

Care Instruction

Handle with Love
Since bamboo viscose is a natural, delicate fiber, it thrives with a little extra care. Following these steps helps prevent pilling and maintains the vibrant "Rain Cloud" print.

Wash: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.

Turn Inside Out: Always wash the footie inside out to protect the ruffles and the delicate surface of the bamboo fabric.

Detergent: Use a mild, eco-friendly detergent. Avoid bleach or optical brighteners.

Dry: Tumble dry low or lay flat to air dry. High heat is the enemy of bamboo—it can cause shrinkage and damage the spandex fibers.

Avoid Softeners: Bamboo is naturally soft! Fabric softeners can actually clog the pores of the fabric, reducing its natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties.

Pro Tip for Longevity:
Zip the footie up completely before tossing it in the wash. This prevents the zipper teeth from snagging the soft bamboo fabric or the delicate ruffles of other items in the load.
